The Department of Energy awarded O-I Glass (a nationwide glass manufacturer) $760,185 to update its facility in Zanesville, Ohio to be more sustainable. This is the first round of funding that will total $1,551,399.

O-I will install a groundbreaking furnace system that combines five technologies designed to cut waste heat, boost energy efficiency, and prevent emissions. With the help of this technology, O-I aims to cut emissions by 10% by 2025 and 25% by 2030.

The toal funding to O-I received has put it on track to create 300 jobs nationwide and boost the efficiency of American manufacturing.
