Just For Kids installed a $28,000-value solar system for just $500 in 2023 thanks to grants, private donations, and tax credits made available through the Inflation Reduction Act.
Now, Just for Kids expects to get 100% of its electricity from the 14-panel ground array for at least 25 to 30 years. This will wave over $32,487 in electricity costs in the system's lifetime.
The project was eligible for the 10% Energy Communities Tax Credit Bonus due to the area's high unemployment rate, which is tied to coal mining and shuttered coal infrastructure.
