Using a tri-trade solar agreement signed by the IBEW, IUOE, and LiUNA unions, the 577-megawatt (MW) Fox Squirrel solar facility in Madison county Ohio completed phase 1 of the projected and started to produce 150 MW.
EDF Renewables North America and Enbridge operate Fox Squirrel, and once completed, the solar project will be able to generate enough clean electricity to power the equivalent of 118,000 households.
The solar farm will go online in three phases. Phase 1 (150 MW) of the solar farm went online in January 2024, Phase 2 (250 MW) will go online in mid-2024, and the third and last phase is expeced to conclude by the end of 2024. During the peak of Phase 1 consturction, 650 workers were onsite installing 10,000 panels per day.
