Our dedication to a clean environment continues to show in renewable energy initiatives such as our Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project. It will be only the second offshore wind project in the nation and the first owned by an electric utility company. When fully operational in 2026, CVOW will produce 2,600 megawatts of electricity, enough to power as many as 660,00 Virginia homes.

During construction, CVOW has created 900 direct and indirect jobs each year, the majority of which are located in Hampton Roads. Once complete, it will support approximately 1,100 direct and indirect jobs annually.

Once Operational, this project will produce an estimated $6 million in revenues for local governments in the Hampton Roads area, as well as $5 million in tax revenues for the Commonwealth.
